Highlights
Hachinohe Senbei Jiru

Hachinohe senbei-jiru (cracker soup) is an old-fashioned local cuisine that boils a special southern soybean senbei (cracker) made from wheat flour and salt in chicken or mackerel soup. Once the senbei softens up just a little by absorbing the soup (it becomes “al dente”), it’s the right time to eat.
