Aomori Station is a central station in Aomori City that is Aomori Prefectural capital. Around the station, there are tourist information facilities and restaurants and the station is convenient to access for each area in Aomori. Once before it was a last station for railroad from Tokyo and also transfer station for Seikan Renraku-sen. Seikan Renraku-sen was connecting Honshu, the Japan’s main island with Hokkaido, and Aomori station was an entrance of Honshu side for it and function as an important point for national traffic. After Seikan Renraku-sen was abolished and Seikan Tunnel took the place, Aomori Station has a role as an entrance at northernmost in Honshu.
