After feasting your eyes in the museum, you should definitely try out the local people’ s soul food: “Barayaki” with beef and onions. The slightly spicy and sweet juicy meat is incredibly appetizing!
The kokanee salmon caught from the clear waters of Lake Towada are especially fresh and savory. It’s something you just have to try!

One of Japan’s most beautiful mountain streams
Designated as a natural monument, it is one of several most beautiful mountain streams in Japan. Some of the mountain streams that flow into Lake Towada have waterfalls, which are called, “瀑布街道/Bakufu Kaido”[WaterFall Road]. Fresh verdant leaves shine vividly in early summer, and crimson foliage blush the scenery in autumn.
