Towada Art Center is a museum of modern art featuring architecture and modern art pieces by domestic and international artists. Works of art are exhibited indoors as well as outdoors, creating an immersive artistic atmosphere. The museum is located on the Kanchogai Dori (Government Offices Street), which has been selected as one of the 100 best streets of Japan. The Art Center serves as the heart of the local development of architecture and arts, while the entire street has been developed as if it is a museum on its own.
