The Aomori Bay Area is a major tourism attraction with many popular sights of historical, cultural, and local importance including festivals and local goods.
A-FACTORY
A-FACTORY is a market style shopping center with shops and dining places using Aomori products such as sweets, foods, and drinks. It is located by the east exit of Aomori Station. A special cidre (cider) and juices using Aomori produced apples are made within the premises, allowing visitors to see the factory and taste the fresh products.
Aomori City Cultural Tourist Exchange Facility, The Nebuta House Wa Rasse
At the Nebuta House Wa Rasse, five carefully chosen nebutas from the Aomori summer festival Nebuta are permanently exhibited. Visitors can experience the nebuta’s intensity from up close. A souvenir shop and restaurant are also available.

The Aomori Prefectural Center for Tourism and Industry, ASPAM
ASPAM is a central facility for tourism and local products in Aomori. It features a 360 degrees panoramic movie theatre and an observational floor. There are occasional live tsugaru-shamisen performances open for anyone’s viewing. The souvenir section is one of the largest in the prefecture with many local products. Restaurants with great views as well as local traditional foods are also available.

The Aomori/Hakodate Ferryboat Memorial Ship “Hakkoda-Maru”
The Hakkoda-Maru is a ship made into a ferryboat museum. The ship itself was used until 1988 as an Aomori/Hakodate ferryboat. The inside of the ship, the wagon deck, engine room, and control house are all maintained and exhibited as if it were still in service. In addition, within the ship is the “Seikan World”, a recreation of the morning market of the station front around 1950s.

Aomori Bay Bridge
The Aomori Bay Bridge is a long bridge of 2 km (1.2 miles) in length which cross over the Aomori port. It is illuminated at night. The bridge can be accessed from the pier by stairs.
