From April 1 to September 30, 2021, six group companies of JR and the municipalities, together with other organizations relating to tourism are holding the tourism campaign “Tohoku Destination Campaign (hereinafter Tohoku DC).”
Tohoku’s six prefectures combine each effort to launch the appeal of the area. This campaign, which is the first time to hold for half a year, marks the 10th anniversary of the Great Tohoku Earthquake.
During the Tohoku DC period, special events are held around the Tohoku area. In Aomori, “Nanbu Sochinjyu(head shrine), Kushihiki Hachimangu Shrine’s Kannushi(shrine priest) and Miko(shrine maiden) guide Syaden(main facility of the shrine) and National Treasure Hall Night Tour,” “Morning Harvesting Experience of Dakekimi (corn),” “Stayover on the Night Train of Tsugaru Railways,” and “Ominato Nebuta Festival Experience,” are available among various special plans.
