Hirosaki Castle Snow Lantern Festival
It is one of the big five snow festivals of Michinoku and offers winter scenes of the castle town. Visitors can enjoy snow lanterns made by locals in the park. Approximately 300 miniature igloos called mini-kamakura with candles light up the winter night in the park and bring fantasy winter world. A huge snow sculpture, designed in the shape of the historical architecture in main venue and snow slide are also popular. This year, you don’t want to miss a castle that is temporary moved during renovation. Projection mapping on stonewall is also scheduled.

Winter Cherry Blossoms
Hirosaki Park is known for cherry blossoms in spring. But did you know that it’s also possible to view cherry blossoms during winter?
You can enjoy the scenery of snow on the branches that are illuminated. As if the cheery blossoms are in full bloom and it gives you a very fantastic view.
