The large bath is made completely of beech wood, and has received steady recognition from women guests as a hot spring with beauty benefits. “Tsurunoyu” The Large Bath
Makado onsen is said to have a history tracing back to 500 or even 1000 years ago. One of the legends says one tsuru (crane) healed its wounds by bathing in the large bath made with beech wood. Another legend says the notorious shogun Minamoto no Yoshitsune bathed in the large bath with the famous warrior Benkei.
