Today we want to introduce sightseeing spots in Aomori City and Hiranai Town.

Aomori City

Hakkoda Ropeway

Hakkoda Ropeway

Hakkoda Ropeway will run all year round and take you to the Summit Park Station within about ten minutes. You can enjoy the view of the town of Aomori City, the Mutsu Bay, the Tsugaru Peninsula, the Shimokita Peninsula and Mt. Iwaki from the park. You don’t want to miss the scenic view of fresh verdure in early summer or beautiful autumn foliage from the late September through mid-October. During winter, Hakkoda is famous for ski resort. Skiers can experience downhill skiing with magnificent view of frozen trees and the land of Hokkaido over the sea, the landscape of which is available to enjoy only in Hakkoda.

Hakkoda Ropeway

[Hours] 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (until 3:40 p.m. during winter)
[Access] Take JR Bus, Lake-Towada-bound from JR Aomori Station, and after approx. 60-min. ride, get off at Hakkoda Ropeway Station Front, and one-min. walk from the bus stop.
*Please note that the bus will be scheduled only Sukayu-bound and reduced in service during winter.

Asamushi Onsen

Asamushi Onsen Resort, called “Aomori’s back parlor”, is hot spring resort where there are many Japanese style inns and hotels. The waters are colorless and transparent, and provide health benefits for such as neuralgia, rheumatism and women’s disease. The evening scenery of sunset that change the color of ocean with the silhouette of a small island, Yushima in the Mutsu Bay will make your stay different here. Furthermore, they have a traditional atmosphere through all seasons and also visitors will find various activities such as swimming in the sea, windsurfing, and yachting, fishing, forest bathing and healing by hot springs. Off course they have good seafood dishes and other sorts of delicacies.

Yogoshiyama Forest Park

Yogoshiyama Forest Park, approximately 100 ha in size, has cacti and orchids gardens, which is one of the largest gardens in Tohoku region, where you will fully enjoy brilliant atmosphere as if you were in southern land.
The cacti conservatory has approximately 3,000 kinds of cacti and succulents, and especially May and June are the best time to visit because various types of cacti flowers are blooming.
On the other hand, inside the orchid greenhouse features about 150 kinds of orchids (Cymbidium, Cattleya, Phalaenopsis Orchid and so on) and other tropical plants such as banana, coffee and lemon trees and fruits.
