July through September in 2016, Aomori Prefecture and the south area of Hokkaido Prefecture and the six companies of the Japan Railway Group will launch a big PR campaign for tourism. This is a nationwide campaign to promote the charm of those areas.

Aomori and the south part of Hokkaido have been communicating and trading across the Tsugaru Strait since ancient age. These two areas have been interacting with each other, and cultivated their culture and history that are passed on to today. In both areas, many charms can be seen; kindness, rich foods and hot springs, the exotic scenery of town in Hakodate, the castle town taste in Hirosaki, and full of the nature scene in the Shimokita and Tsugaru Peninsulas.
We offer the trip to feel those charms under the concept of “the story connecting over the Tsugaru Strait”.
