
Aomori’s festivals make the short summer of northland more excited.
The festival sounds like “Ohayashi (Japanese traditional festival music)” or “Taiko drum” make your heart beaten, and local people’s passion and feelings for festival will touch your heart.

For the festival, more than three million people including tourists participate and the floats and dancers parade to the festival music. It is chosen as the best festival to visit in Japan for this year by JTB Corp (Japan Travel Bureau) research.
Furthermore, four special floats transforming into 3D “Star Wars” pictures will appear for this year’s ceremony of the festival eve and they will be displayed at the Nebuta House Wa Rasse during the festival.

Hirosaki Neputa Festival
It is definitely worth to see that the huge Neputa floats, the biggest of which is over nine meters, will parade through the town dodging electric wire and signboard. Also you don’t want to miss “men for festival” carrying the huge floats of weight a ton.

Goshogawara Tachineputa Festival

“Tachineputa”, the huge floats with 22 meters in height and 17 tons in weight, will parade in the town of Goshogawara City. In this past February, one of those floats joined in Samba Carnival in Brazil under the cooperation with Junko Koshino, a fashion designer. In this summer, a float in the motif of Junko Koshino will be seen in the parade.

Goshogawara Tachineputa Festival
Hachinohe Sansha Taisai Festival
The summer festival, which has about 290 years history, is the biggest and traditional festival in Hachinohe City. The gorgeous floats, traditional portable shrine parade and Toramai (a kind of lion dance) will attract and grab your heart.

Hachinohe Sansha Taisai Festival
Kuroishi Yosare
Kuroishi Yosare Festival is composed with three types of dance and at the festival about 3,000 dancers and tourists can enjoy together. Furthermore the festival will be bustling with performance of Syamisen, Taiko drum and traditional songs for Tsugaru Minyo Teodori (a local folk song and dance).
