Dake has been known for its fountainhead since the Edo period, and a plateau near the hot spring served as the setting for Yojiro Ishizaka’s novel “Kusa wo Karu Onna” (The Grass-Cutting Girl). This hot spring also serves as a popular a base for sight-seeing. The “Yuki Oroshi Tour” (Snow Removal Tour) is a recent attraction and has brought many visitors. Water temperature at ground level: 78 degrees Celsius, Bath type: sulfur spring (earth-muriated acid hydrogen sulphide spring), Beneficial effects: relieves chronic joint rheumatism, back pain, wounds, hemorrhoids, neuralgia (nerve pain), and others.

Board the Konan Bus Karekitai Line (for Hyakuzawa) at the bus terminal in front of JR Hirosaki Station (travel time: approximately 50 min), and get off at Dake Onsen.
