The Tsugaru-jamisen Hall is located at the birthplace of Tsugaru jamisen at Kanagi Area of Goshogawara city. Visitors can learn about the history and music of Tsugaru jamisen in addition to listening to live performances. Lessons of Tsugaru jamisen are available when reserved in advance (paid service).
At the exhibition room, visitors can also learn about the origins and history of Tsugaru jamisen as well as Tsugaru folk songs and local entertainment. There is a special area called “Shamisen, the World’s String Instrument” for visitors to enjoy the beautiful sound of shamisen.
